Photography session will be done after a model release has been signed.
Please notice that Brandi Slaybaugh and Speed of Life Photography retains copyright of all images and reserves the right to its use for advertising purposes, portfolio and in any other format that will help promote Speed of Life Photography. If you are uncomfortable with having your pictures used for marketing purposes, I completely understand. I just ask that you understand that there is a $50 fee added on to the final session price for these situations. I want you to know that your images will always be treated with the utmost respect and I would never sell, trade or use them for any derogatory purpose. The images photographers take is the most effective way to market themselves and, well - stay in business! So I appreciate it immensely when I can share those images with future clients...and hope you see the compliment in the fact that I am so pleased with the work I've done for you, I want to share it with others! That being said, I urge you to share your pictures with your family and friends as well! I hope you are proud of them like I am!
WHAT TO WEAR
This is, by far, the most common question asked - and the most difficult to answer in my opinion! I found a great article that really encapsulates the subject.
Please, if you are struggling with what to wear, take a moment to read through this as I think it will help you make the right choice in what to wear for YOUR particular photo shoot. Of course, I am always available to answer questions and give advice - so if you still need some help, just give me a shout! and a BIG thank you to Butler Family Photography for the great article! Obviously, this does NOT apply to weddings...I think we all know what will be worn for those!
SHOULD WE STAY OR SHOULD WE GO - ON LOCATION
So...the 2nd most popular question is this one! Again, this depends on you and what you are trying to achieve from your shoot. I LOVE taking pictures in any situation. Anywhere there is light, windows, reflections, greenery, interesting backgrounds and most importantly, where my subjects are comfortable!! Especially when children are involved! For newborns - I would definitely suggest doing this in a warm, safe environment. Now, for most people, this happens to be their home, which is great! For boudoir pictures or even maternity, where privacy is desired, home may be another good option. There are always exceptions though - so please, feel free to talk openly with me about what you are trying to achieve from the shoot. The better I know what you want and are comfortable with or not for that matter, the better and more effective I will be at getting some great shots for you! I have a TON of places, big and small, that I keep tabs on and love to take pictures at. I love to mix it up and I take great care in "matching" up the best place to shoot for each shoot - it's one of the biggest components to what creates the magic in a picture...the other components being lighting and YOU, of course! So, lets talk about it and decide together what will work best for you! Again, for weddings - I go where you go! Just give me a shout!
TRAVELING

Out of state clients: I LOVE to travel and would never dream of limiting my photography to just one location - what fun is that?! If you are interested in hiring me and are not in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, please don't let that stop you from giving me a call! I am open to traveling to any location as long as my airfare and hotel expenses are paid. Each situation is so individual so please feel free to give me a call and we can talk about the details! Having a wedding? I would love to be your photographer for one of the most amazing days of your life - and I will go where you go! Just give me a call and we can chat details!
Arizona clients: Each session fee includes a travel fee for up to 30 miles from Scottsdale, in any direction. For anything in addition to that, it will be 10 for every 10 miles traveled. Please note that I do travel to Flagstaff approximately once per month and occasionally do shoots there. If you are interested in getting your pictures taken in the Flagstaff area, please feel free to contact me. If I am in the area I will be happy to do the shoot, and of course, the travel fees from Scottsdale will not apply! Just give me a shout!
HOW DO I PREPARE MY LITTLE ONE FOR THE SHOOT?
As it is with everything with little ones...if they are fed, clean and comfy - the experience will be much more enjoyable! Bring a few changes of clothes and anything you may need to keep baby happy. Please, if you need to breastfeed your baby during our shoot - do NOT feel like you can't. I am completely supportive of this and if it keeps baby happy, it keeps Mom & Dad happy - which in turn makes my job easier! I will bring some props to keep toddlerslittle kids occupied bubbles, blocks etc., so don't feel like you need to lug around a bunch of stuff. That said, if your little one has a special toy that you would like to be part of the shot, feel free to bring it along! One more thing, we all know kiddos get sick. If you need to reschedule, I understand. Please read over the "rescheduling" paragraph for full details.
I'M PREGNANT - WHEN IS IT BEST TO DO BELLY PICTURES?
I think the best time for maternity pictures is the late 2nd trimester, early 3rd. That way, you are "showing" but still comfortable! That said, being pregnant is the beginning of a long journey of listening to your body and knowing what is "right", so just let me know what you are thinking and we will figure out a date, time and place where you are feeling great and will end up being very satisfied with your pictures!
WHAT IF WE ARE LATE?
I will be respectful of your time and be early, I just ask that you are respectful of mine and be on time. I have two boys and understand that things happen, of course! Please call me if you think you will be late. If you are a no show, there will be no refund of your session fee.
RESCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS
If you need to reschedule a shoot that is not a problem. I just asked that you do so within 48 hours without penalty. A shoot can be rescheduled twice without penalty as well. If you need to cancel a shoot all together I just asked that this is done at least one week before the shoot date for a full refund. If you cancel three days before your scheduled shoot then 50 of your session fee will be refunded.
I SAW YOU TAKE A TON OF PICTURES, WHY AREN'T THEY IN MY GALLERY?
I go through every picture I take very carefully and choose those that I feel are the best. In each shoot, I will end up with a handful of duplicates, some "not so flattering" expressions etc...I want you to look at every picture and fall in love! So, rest assured that the pictures that I pass on to you are the best representation of the mass of what I took - and any that I do not use are appropriately discardedremoved.
WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO VIEW MY PROOFS?
You will be able to see a sneak preview from your session on my blog a few days after your session. Your entire gallery is usually online and available for viewing within 2 weeks from the date of your session. I will email you a link to your personal gallery on my website, along with your unique, case sensitive password. Feel free to share the link with friends and family who may want to view your photos. You will also receive one CD with these images - which will either be hand delivered or mailed to you depending on your location.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY PRINTS?
After the print order is finalized, you can expect to receive them in approximately 2 weeks. Specialty items, such as canvas prints, storyboards, and custom albums may take up to 2 additional weeks. When your order arrives, I will contact you to arrange a time for delivery.
PAYMENT DETAILS
Session must be paid in full at time of booking. Credit Cards through PayPal are accepted. Please note there is no reimbursement; however, your appointment may be rescheduled in case of illness or emergencies.
